DNACA presents: Sundae + Mr. Goessl in concert

DNACA is pleased to present the award-winning duo Sundae + Mr. Goessl, Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Tolowa Event Center, 350 N. Indian Road, Smith River (inside the Lucky 7 Casino Complex). This charming act encompasses jazz, pop, country, comedy and vaudeville, featuring award-winning vocalist Kate Voss and virtuoso guitarist Jason Goessl, who has performed with jazz greats like guitarist Charlie Byrd. Sundae often surprises her audience with a melodica solo and JazzTimes says her “voice reflects the authenticity of that era”. Preliminary study courses for better paints

Award-winning artist Linda Evans will host this course for artists of all experience levels. Classes will be held Thursdays, March 3 through March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Manley Art Center, located at 433 Oak St. in Brookings. Students will use both value and color to create studies before final work begins and may complete one to five paintings during the course. All styles of painting media are welcome. Fees: $100 for PBAA members; $110 for non-members for the advance series, or $27 for PBAA members; $30 for non-members per class.

Solo Art Exhibition by Dena Fillippa

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness is pleased to present a solo exhibition by artist Dena Fillippa which was featured in DNACA’s 30th Annual Juried Art Show at the Del Norte County Courthouse until to March 3. The exhibit features Dena’s paintings, including one that was featured in DNACA. 30th Annual Juried Art Exhibition, and is titled “Evolution of an Artist”. Solo Art Exhibition by Linda Evans

DNACA’s Art in Public Places program features a solo exhibition by award-winning artist Linda Evans, who participated in DNACA’s 30th Annual Jury Art Exhibition. Linda paints in pastel, oil, watercolor, and mixed media and is a member of Pastel Artists of Oregon and the International Association of Pastel Societies. The exhibit is on view through March 3 at the 2nd Floor Mezzanine of CEC Airport, 1650 Dale Rupert Road, Crescent City. The exhibition can be seen during the opening hours of the airport terminal: from 6 am to 8 pm on weekdays, from 6 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm on Saturdays and from 6 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm on Sundays. Violin duel in concert

Violinists Fritz Gearhart and Anthea Kreston perform a classical music concert featuring violin duos from the past 300 years on Saturday, February 26 at 2 p.m. at Roque Playhouse, 94196 W.
