The South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) will be offering offerings for all ages at the annual South Pasadena Eclectic Music Festival & Arts Crawl on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The solo exhibition, “Clarity,” scheduled to run through May 14, 2022, at SPARC Gallery in South Pasadena, will be open during the eclectic, giving festival-goers a chance to view “micro/macroscopic explorations of activity.” by renowned artist Sunny Samuel. and landscapes from another world”, and to meet Samuel, who will be present during the opening of the exhibition, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free entry.

Outside of the SPARC Gallery, professional henna artist Devna Desai (@HennaByDevna) will be offering henna tattoos. “I’ve been doing henna for over a decade,” notes Desai. “I’ve always been so mesmerized by its delicacy and the meditative state it puts you in since I was adorned by artists growing up in India as a little girl. And I can’t stress enough the fact that I love seeing people light up after getting their henna tattoo Desai points out that she uses an organic, vegan henna paste – made with sugar, water, essential oils, juice of lemon and crushed henna plant powder from Rajasthan, India – which is safe for all ages.Tattoos will last up to two weeks.Suggested donation: $5.

Just steps from the SPARC Gallery to the outdoor venue at 1414 Mission Street, all ages can get creative with free, interactive “SPARC the Arts” experiences, starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. ( or while supplies last):

  • “Love-Peace-Hope” invites participants to use words or drawings to express these themes on pre-cut hearts and to place the finished hearts in threeLove-Peace-Hope billboards to create a temporary community art exhibit.
  • In SPARC’s “Make & Take” activity, participants can decorate CD discs with sharpies and/or peel and stick accessories to create their own wearable piece of art that can also double as a mosaic suncatcher !
