What do you want to know: Based in Los Angeles, 5Art Gallery presents a collective exhibition of iconic and emerging street artists in “Art de Rue”. On view until November 22, 2022, the exhibition includes highlights such as Banksy’s Banksy of England (2004), the artist’s recreation of the £10 note featuring Princess Diana in place of Queen Elizabeth, and multiple mosaics by Invader.

Why we love it: Street art is one of the most stylistically diverse genres of contemporary art, with each artist inventing their own visual vernacular. “Street Art”, by bringing together examples from the early 2020s of some of the biggest names in street art alongside new names in the scene, offers viewers a chance to grasp the experimental and avant-garde trajectory of street art. these last years. decades.

According to the Gallery: “From the 1970s in New York, street art has played an important role in the history of contemporary art. From neo-expressionism to conceptual art, street artists are constantly exploring and expressing themselves through various materials… From Banksy’s stenciled pieces to Invader’s ceramic tile mosaics, each of them represents a revolutionary style in the history of street-art. Thanks to unique techniques, brilliant ideas on various subjects and excellent performances in auction houses, their works have become valuable artistic investments.
